Role Description The Senior Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore, responsible for leading the design and development of automation systems and equipment. This role involves creating and reviewing detailed mechanical and electrical designs, preparing CAD models and drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards. The Senior Design Engineer will translate customer requirements into practical product designs, support prototype development, and oversee design changes during the project lifecycle. Day-to-day tasks include design validation, documentation, design reviews, and providing technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians. The role also requires close coordination with production and commissioning teams to ensure successful implementation of automation solutions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Design Engineering and Product Design for industrial and automation applications.
- Candidates should possess solid Mechanical Engineering expertise, including knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 3D modeling and drafting.
- Candidates should possess foundational Electrical Engineering understanding relevant to automation systems and machine controls.
- Relevant engineering degree (Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related field) and several years of experience in industrial automation or machine design.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and safety requirements, and to prepare clear engineering documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Experience with PLC-based systems, motion control, or robotics, as well as familiarity with industrial standards, is beneficial.
