Role Description This full-time Mechanical Design Engineer role is an on-site position based in Coimbatore. The role involves designing mechanical components and systems, developing machine and product concepts, and preparing detailed engineering drawings and specifications. The Mechanical Design Engineer will use Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools to model, analyze, and optimize designs for performance, manufacturability, and safety. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting prototype development and testing, and refining designs based on feedback and technical requirements. The role also includes documenting design processes, maintaining design standards, and contributing to continuous improvement in engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to complex mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in Machine Design, including analysis of mechanical components, materials selection, and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Experience in Product Design, covering concept development, design validation, and integration of user and performance requirements.
- Hands-on expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling, and familiarity with relevant industry standards.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, perform basic engineering calculations, and prepare clear design documentation.
- Good collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams on-site.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA), simulation tools, or involvement in academic/industry projects is an advantage.
