Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore. This role involves designing and developing conveyors, SPMs, and automation systems to meet customer specifications and performance requirements. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed 3D and 2D CAD models, preparing engineering drawings, and supporting prototype development and testing. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine designs, address manufacturing constraints, and ensure cost-effective, reliable solutions. Responsibilities also include reviewing customer requirements, performing basic engineering calculations, updating documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in design standards and processes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply engineering principles to real-world industrial applications.
- Proficiency in Machine Design and Product Design, including designing mechanical components and assemblies for conveyors, SPMs, and automation systems.
- Hands-on experience with solidworks tools for creating 3D models and 2D drawings suitable for manufacturing and assembly.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
- Good communication and collaboration skills for working with production, sales, and service teams.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving mindset, and willingness to work on the shop floor when required.
- Prior experience in conveyor, SPM, or automation projects is an advantage.
