Key Roles & Responsibilities
Design & Product Engineering
- Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components based on customer and project requirements.
- Create conceptual designs, detailed 2D drawings, and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent software.
- Prepare accurate Bill of Materials (BOM), fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, production drawings, packing lists, and installation layouts.
- Review existing designs and implement improvements to enhance performance, manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
- Conduct design feasibility studies, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability assessments to ensure robust product performance.
Product Development & Validation
- Support New Product Development (NPD) activities, including concept validation, prototyping, fitment trials, and design verification.
- Prepare technical documentation such as validation checklists, pre-delivery inspection (PDI) checklists, maintenance checklists, installation manuals, operation & maintenance manuals, and spare parts catalogues.
- Define recommended spare parts based on equipment lifecycle and maintenance requirements.
Engineering Change & Documentation Control
- Manage engineering change processes through ECR, ECN, ICR, and NCR workflows.
- Maintain drawing revisions, document version control, and ensure engineering data is updated in ERP/PLM systems.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) arising from design reviews, customer feedback, and field issues.
Cross-Functional Engineering Support
- Collaborate with Production, Quality, Projects, Sales, Procurement, and Service teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning.
- Assist in troubleshooting field issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement sustainable design improvements.
- Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to understand technical requirements and deliver optimized engineering solutions.
Quality & Process Compliance
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, drawing practices, GD&T, and internal quality procedures.
- Verify the accuracy of drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation before release.
- Maintain complete engineering documentation and ensure timely submission to ERP/PLM systems.
Technical Competencies
