Legal Lead - Commercial Leasing
Location: Mumbai
Industry: Real Estate / Commercial Property Development
Experience: 10-15 years (flexible based on profile)
Reporting To: Head Legal (Non-Litigation)
Specific Experience
Experience in handling of documentation for leases, leave and license and sale of commercial assets (office, retail, mixed-use)
Exposure with real estate commercial / retail / law firms / IPC sector
Familiar with stamp duty & registration process
Exposure with clients from commercial leasing, retail malls/ outlets will be preferred.
Strong negotiation and closing abilities for various types of commercial RE deals
Legal and commercial understanding of leasing, leave and license and similar transactions
Deep knowledge of commercial real estate market across Maharashtra
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage brokers, clients, internal stakeholders and external advisors
High legal acumen with commercial awareness from the perspective of transactions involving commercial assets in Maharashtra.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and finalize term sheets and commercial proposals with prospective lessees, licensees and/ or purchasers of commercial assets.
Drafting and negotiating Leave & License Agreements, Lease Deeds, and related documents.
Coordination for payment of stamp duty, registration, and compliance under Maharashtra laws
Compliance with MahaRERA, local municipal rules, and fire/occupation norms.
Advising the commercial vertical in day-to-day management of clarifications, compliances and drafting and closing of other ancillary documents.
