About the RoleWe are looking for a hands-on, end-to-end HR Manager to own the entire HR function — from recruitment and onboarding to performance management, culture building, and HR analytics. This is an individual-contributor-turned-owner role: you will build and run HR largely on your own, with the scope to hire a team as the function scales. As we expand internationally, you will also help establish HR processes and compliance awareness for global markets, including Australia and the US.
Key Responsibilities1. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Own end-to-end recruitment: manpower planning, job postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer management.
- Build and manage a strong talent pipeline across job portals, LinkedIn, referrals, and consultants.
- Conduct first-level HR screening interviews to assess culture fit, communication, and role alignment.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and improve time-to-hire and quality-of-hire.
- Manage onboarding and induction for new joiners to ensure a smooth first-90-days experience.
2. HR Operations & Management
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle: onboarding, confirmations, transfers, exits, and full-and-final settlements.
- Own HR documentation, employee records, HRMS data accuracy, and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, labour laws, etc.).
- Design and administer HR policies, employee handbook, leave and attendance management.
- Manage payroll inputs and coordinate with finance/payroll vendors for accurate and timely processing.
- Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters, and workplace investigations with sensitivity and fairness.
3. Performance Management
- Drive the performance review cycle — goal setting, mid-year and annual appraisals, feedback, and calibration.
- Partner with leadership on compensation reviews, promotions, and career progression frameworks.
- Coach managers on performance conversations, PIPs, and team development.
4. Culture, Engagement & Employer Branding
- Design and drive initiatives that strengthen culture, employee engagement, and retention.
- Plan and execute engagement calendars — town halls, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, and offsites.
- Run pulse surveys and eNPS studies; convert findings into concrete action plans.
- Strengthen employer branding to support recruitment and reduce attrition.
5. HR Analytics & KPI Dashboards
- Build and maintain HR dashboards tracking hiring funnel, attrition, headcount, engagement, and other key HR metrics.
- Present regular HR MIS and insights to leadership to support data-driven people decisions.
- Track and report on HR KPIs such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, attrition rate, offer-to-join ratio, and eNPS.
6. Global HR & Expansion Readiness
- Develop working knowledge of HR practices, employment norms, and statutory basics in Australia and the US to support the company's international expansion.
- Assist in setting up HR frameworks, policies, and compliant employment structures for new geographies (in partnership with local legal/PEO/EOR partners).
- Ensure HR policies are adaptable across time zones and cultures as the team becomes more global.
What We're Looking ForMust-Haves
- 5–9 years of progressive HR generalist experience, ideally having run HR end-to-end for a company or business unit.
- Strong hands-on experience across recruitment, HR operations, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, POSH, gratuity, etc.).
- Exposure to or strong interest in global HR practices (US/Australia employment norms, time zones, and culture).
- Comfortable building and reading HR dashboards/MIS in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with HRMS tools (e.g., Keka, Darwinbox, Zoho People, BambooHR, or similar).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (MBA-HR preferred).
Good to Have
- Prior experience in a startup or fast-scaling company environment.
- Experience supporting international hiring, or setting up HR for a new country.
- Certification in HR Analytics, SHRM, or equivalent.
What We Offer- Ownership of the HR function from the ground up, with a direct seat in shaping company culture.
- Hybrid work model — 3 days in office (Gurgaon), 2 days flexible/remote.
- Exposure to global HR practices as the company scales into Australia, the US, and beyond.
- Competitive compensation, benchmarked to experience and market standards.
