Role Description The Electrical BIM Modeller is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for developing and managing detailed electrical BIM models for building and infrastructure projects. Daily tasks include creating and updating 3D models, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and integrating electrical systems within overall BIM workflows. The role involves interpreting and converting construction drawings into accurate BIM models, ensuring compliance with project standards, codes, and client requirements. The Electrical BIM Modeller collaborates closely with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to resolve clashes, maintain model integrity, and support documentation for design reviews and site execution. The position also requires adherence to Escher Labs’ digital delivery processes and participation in continuous improvement of modeling standards and templates.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Building Information Modeling (BIM), with experience in electrical systems modeling and coordination.
- Candidates should possess skills related to Architecture and Construction Drawings, including the ability to interpret plans and convert them into accurate BIM models.
- Candidates should possess proven experience as a Modeler (BIM or CAD), preferably in Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) environments.
- Candidates should possess proficiency with relevant BIM software tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) and familiarity with clash detection and model review processes.
- Candidates should possess a diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with experience in building or infrastructure projects.
- Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional project teams on-site.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards; prior experience in the AECO segment or with international projects is an advantage.
