Role Description The Interior Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This position is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for interior fit-out and manufacturing projects by analyzing drawings, specifications, and scope of work. Day-to-day tasks include taking measurements, quantifying materials, labor, and services, and coordinating with design, project management, procurement, and vendors to validate pricing and timelines. The Interior Estimator will develop and maintain estimation templates, update cost databases, prepare bid documents, and support negotiations with clients and partners. The role also involves reviewing project variations, monitoring budgets against actual costs, and providing clear, data-backed reports to support decision-making and profitability.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in quantity take-off, cost estimation, and budgeting for interior fit-out and manufacturing projects.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural and interior drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
- Experience with estimation and project management software (e.g., Excel, MS Project, AutoCAD or similar tools).
- Solid understanding of interior materials, finishes, joinery, and construction methods.
- Ability to analyze supplier and contractor quotations, negotiate pricing, and maintain updated rate databases.
- Excellent numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with design, procurement, and site teams.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
- Prior experience in interior fit-out estimation or quantity surveying, preferably in commercial or hospitality projects.
- Capability to work on-site in Chennai and manage multiple bids and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
