Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Engineer role based in Chennai. The MEP Engineer will design, review, and coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for building services projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and checking drawings, performing load calculations, selecting equipment, and collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to resolve design and site issues. The role involves participating in project meetings, supporting MEP coordination during construction, reviewing shop drawings and material submittals, and assisting in testing, commissioning, and handover documentation. The engineer will also contribute to quality assurance, cost optimization, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) and Building Services skills, with experience in integrated building systems design.
- Candidates should possess MEP Coordination skills, including interdisciplinary coordination with architectural, structural, and contractor teams.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills, including power distribution, lighting, grounding, and safety systems design.
- Candidates should possess Plumbing skills, including water supply, drainage, sanitary systems, and related building services design.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
- Working knowledge of relevant building codes, standards, and local regulations; experience with industry CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) is highly beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate on-site and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Prior experience in commercial, residential, or industrial building projects in an MEP role is an advantage.
