Role Description The Design Engineer role at 7D Technologies is a full-time, on-site position based in Haveli. The Design Engineer will develop and refine automotive plastic product designs and interior/exterior components, using CAD tools to create detailed 2D and 3D models, assemblies, and engineering drawings. Daily responsibilities include performing design feasibility studies, applying DFM/DFA principles, ensuring compliance with standards and GD&T requirements, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, and project management. The role involves reviewing specifications, translating customer requirements into robust design solutions, and supporting design changes and continuous improvement activities throughout the product lifecycle. The Design Engineer may also contribute to documentation, design reviews, and knowledge sharing related to best practices in automotive design engineering.
Qualifications:
- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with experience in automotive or related industries.
- Background in Mechanical Engineering, with understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural design considerations.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools such as CATIA and/or Siemens NX, including 2D–3D modeling and detailing.
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering principles as they relate to integration of electrical components within mechanical designs is an advantage.
- Familiarity with DFM/DFA, tooling feasibility, GD&T, and engineering drawing standards.
- Relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Haveli, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication abilities.
