Role Description The Computer Aided Design Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. The drafter will create, revise, and maintain detailed technical and engineering drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants, related structures, and associated equipment using CAD software. Daily responsibilities include interpreting engineering concepts and specifications, preparing layout and assembly drawings, and ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry and company standards. The role involves collaborating closely with design and project engineers, incorporating feedback, updating documentation, and supporting project execution with clear and precise drawings. The drafter will also help maintain drawing libraries, follow quality and safety guidelines, and contribute to continuous improvement of design practices.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Drawing and Drawing for engineering applications.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Engineering Drawings, including layouts, sections, and detail drawings.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Architectural Drawings related to plant layouts and infrastructure.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Understanding of industrial water and wastewater treatment processes is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering specifications, P&IDs, and technical documentation.
- Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and the ability to meet project deadlines.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Relevant CAD drafting experience in industrial, plant, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
