Role Description The Assistant Banquet Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, responsible for supporting the planning and execution of banquet events. This role coordinates with the Banquet Manager, culinary team, and service colleagues to ensure events are set up according to specifications, run smoothly, and meet Hyatt’s standards for quality and guest satisfaction. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising banquet staff, overseeing food and beverage service, managing event timelines, and resolving guest inquiries or issues promptly and professionally. The Assistant Banquet Manager assists with scheduling, training, and performance feedback for banquet team members, while ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene, and brand standards. This role also supports cost control, inventory management, and post-event reviews to enhance service and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service, with the ability to respond to guest needs and feedback in a professional and timely manner.
- Excellent Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication and the ability to coordinate effectively with guests, team members, and other departments.
- Solid Food & Beverage knowledge, including banquet service standards, menu understanding, and coordination with culinary teams.
- Experience with Hiring and team support, such as assisting in recruitment, onboarding, and training of banquet colleagues.
- Previous experience in banquet operations or event management within hospitality, preferably in a hotel or similar environment.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams, manage time-sensitive events, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and commitment to safety and hygiene standards.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
