Job Summary: The Senior Payroll Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad. This position is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, including preparing and running payroll cycles, managing employee records, and ensuring accurate calculation of wages, benefits, deductions, and taxes for the Australian clients. The role involves monitoring compliance with relevant Australian payroll regulations, resolving payroll discrepancies, and responding to clients' payroll-related queries in a timely and professional manner. Prepare payroll reports and reconciliations, and support process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end Australian payroll accurately within defined timelines.
- Ensure compliance with Australian payroll laws, Fair Work regulations, taxation, Superannuation, STP (Single Touch Payroll), and other statutory requirements.
- Review payroll inputs, including timesheet, overtime, bonuses, incentives, reimbursements, and final settlements.
- Verify payroll calculations, including PAYG tax, Superannuation, allowances, deductions, and termination payments.
- Coordinate with the clients for payroll-related activities.
- Handle payroll audits, reconciliations, reporting, and documentation.
- Resolve client’s payroll queries and escalations professionally and within TAT.
- Ensure payroll records are maintained confidentially and accurately.
- Monitor payroll KPIs, productivity, and team performance.
- Train, mentor, and guide team members on payroll processes and compliance updates.
- Identify opportunities for payroll automation and process improvement.
- Prepare monthly payroll reports and MIS for management review.
- Manage payroll vendor or software coordination if applicable.
