Job Summary
We are looking for a results-driven Area Sales Head to lead franchise expansion across an assigned territory. The role is responsible for identifying, acquiring, onboarding, and activating new franchise partners while ensuring successful business operations during the initial six months. This position plays a key role in driving territory growth, franchise performance, and market penetration.
Key Responsibilities
Territory Development & Market Expansion
- Map assigned territories to identify expansion opportunities across cities, districts, towns, and emerging markets.
- Evaluate market potential, competitor presence, pharmacy density, and white-space opportunities.
- Develop and execute quarterly territory expansion plans.
- Ensure adequate franchise coverage across the assigned geography.
Franchise Acquisition
- Generate franchise leads through business associations, trade exhibitions, distributor networks, healthcare communities, entrepreneur groups, real estate networks, digital communities, and company-generated leads.
- Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with consistent lead generation and CRM updates.
- Qualify prospects based on business viability, financial capability, investment readiness, location suitability, and market potential.
- Conduct initial screening calls using standardized qualification processes.
Business Opportunity Presentation
- Conduct structured business presentations for qualified prospects covering:
- Business model
- Investment requirements
- Revenue potential
- Product portfolio
- Operational processes
- Franchise support ecosystem
- Demonstrate digital platforms and explain the end-to-end franchise journey.
Franchise Conversion
- Address customer objections related to investment, competition, profitability, and business feasibility.
- Build trust through consultative selling and structured follow-ups.
- Guide prospects through franchise registration, payment processing, documentation, and onboarding formalities.
Franchise Onboarding & Store Launch
- Ensure a smooth onboarding experience for newly registered franchise partners.
- Conduct welcome calls and initial meetings immediately after registration.
- Coordinate with the Franchise Development Manager (FDM) to ensure store setup and launch within defined timelines.
- Monitor onboarding milestones and shop opening readiness.
Early Business Activation
- Drive franchise performance during the first six months of operations.
- Ensure welcome stock placement and product category planning.
- Track monthly purchase performance and customer engagement initiatives.
- Identify underperforming outlets and implement corrective action plans.
- Transition stabilized franchise partners to the relationship management team after achieving defined business milestones.
Team Management
- Lead and monitor Franchise Development Managers (FDMs).
- Assign onboarding responsibilities and review execution regularly.
- Conduct weekly performance reviews and joint field visits.
- Ensure timely completion of onboarding activities and operational readiness.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Ensure seamless transition of matured franchise partners to the relationship management team.
- Share business performance insights and conduct joint handover meetings.
Reporting & Governance
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering:
- Lead generation
- Prospect meetings
- Franchise closures
- Territory expansion
- Onboarding status
- Business activation performance
- Team performance metrics
Required Skills
- Strong franchise development, business development, or B2B sales experience.
- Excellent lead generation, prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Strong business presentation and consultative selling abilities.
- Territory planning and market mapping expertise.
- CRM and sales pipeline management experience.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder handling skills.
- Team leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- High ownership, accountability, and execution focus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Profile
- Age: 28–40 years.
- Experience in franchise sales, retail expansion, channel sales, business development, or territory sales is preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
