Role Description The Roto/Prep Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in Coimbatore. This role involves delivering structured training sessions on roto and prep workflows, tools, and best practices for aspiring VFX professionals. The Trainer designs lesson plans, practical exercises, and project-based assignments that simulate real production environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include demonstrating industry-standard software, reviewing student work, providing constructive feedback, and tracking learner progress. The Trainer collaborates with other faculty to keep course content aligned with current studio practices and emerging technologies, and supports students through mentorship and portfolio guidance.
Qualifications
- Strong practical expertise in roto and prep for VFX pipelines, including experience with industry-standard tools and techniques.
- Ability to design and deliver structured training content, including lesson plans, demonstrations, and project-based assessments.
- Clear communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in an accessible way.
- Experience in a production or studio environment, with understanding of VFX workflows, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Comfort with technology and emerging tools (e.g., AI-assisted workflows) and willingness to update teaching materials as the industry evolves.
- Strong mentoring mindset, patience, and interest in supporting diverse learners at different skill levels.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues on curriculum development and training initiatives.
- Relevant education or certification in VFX, animation, multimedia, or a related field; professional roto/prep experience is highly valued.
