Role Description The Hostel Warden (Boys Hostel) is a full-time, on-site role based in Lucknow, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the boys’ hostel and ensuring a safe, disciplined, and supportive residential environment. The warden supervises student entry and exit, daily routines, and hostel discipline, while monitoring attendance, cleanliness, and maintenance of rooms and common areas. The role includes addressing students’ concerns, guiding them in personal conduct and time management, and coordinating with school administration, teaching staff, and support personnel for smooth hostel operations. The warden also manages emergency situations, enforces safety and security protocols, and ensures adherence to school rules and regulations. Regular interaction with parents/guardians, documentation of hostel activities, and participation in school events related to residential life are key components of this position.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability in hostel or residential facility management, including supervision of students and coordination of daily routines.
- Strong skills in discipline management, conflict resolution, and maintaining a calm, fair, and supportive environment for adolescents.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents/guardians, school staff, and support teams.
- Experience in safety, security, and basic emergency handling within a residential or educational setting.
- Organizational and record-keeping skills for maintaining attendance, incident reports, and hostel-related documentation.
- Ability to work long and flexible hours on-site, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as required by hostel routines.
- Prior experience in a school hostel or similar residential educational institution is highly preferred.
- Minimum educational qualification: graduation in any discipline; training in counseling, child psychology, or education is an added advantage.
