Role Description The Division 8 Detailer is a full-time, remote opportunity, responsible for preparing detailed drawings and documentation for doors, frames, and related hardware in accordance with Division 8 specifications. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and structural plans, creating accurate shop drawings, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to clarify requirements and resolve discrepancies. The Division 8 Detailer will verify measurements, ensure compliance with codes and standards, and maintain organized records of revisions, approvals, and material lists. This role also involves supporting procurement with detailed take-offs, assisting in project scheduling related to Division 8 materials, and communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders to maintain project accuracy and timelines.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings, especially related to doors, frames, and hardware under Division 8.
- Candidates should possess skills in using CAD or similar detailing software for creating precise shop drawings and technical documentation.
- Candidates should possess skills in measurement verification, material take-offs, and basic construction estimating for Division 8 components.
- Candidates should possess skills in written and verbal communication to coordinate effectively with project managers, engineers, and site teams.
- Candidates should possess skills in organization, time management, and attention to detail to manage multiple projects and revisions accurately.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in construction detailing, door and hardware scheduling, or similar roles will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes, safety standards, and industry practices related to doors and openings is beneficial.
