Role Overview
As the General Manager of Corporate HR and the second-in-command for the HR function at CGH Earth, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy for one of India’s most respected responsible tourism brands. Working closely with the Vice President of HR, you will oversee day-to-day HR operations, lead strategic talent initiatives, and ensure that our unique organizational culture—built on sustainability, respect, and local community empowerment—is nurtured across all properties and corporate teams.
This role requires a seasoned HR leader who balances strategic vision with operational excellence, capable of stepping in for the VP of HR when required.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Value Alignment
- Partner with the VP of HR to design, develop, and execute the overall corporate HR strategy aligned with CGH Earth’s ethos of ethos-driven hospitality.
- Act as the second-in-command for the HR department, providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to the corporate and property-level HR teams.
- Ensure all HR policies and initiatives reinforce the core pillars of CGH Earth.
Talent Acquisition & Management
- Oversee leadership and corporate-level recruitment to attract high-caliber professionals who align with the brand’s culture.
- Design and implement robust talent management and succession planning frameworks to build a strong leadership pipeline for future property expansions.
- Drive the annual performance management system, ensuring goals are aligned with both business metrics and sustainability targets.
Learning, Development & Culture
- Champion organizational culture initiatives that keep the "CGH Way" alive among long-standing and new employees alike.
- Oversee the creation of training programs.
- Implement employee engagement strategies that maintain high morale, foster open communication, and reduce attrition across corporate and regional teams.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Supervise corporate HR operations, including compensation and benefits, HRIS management, and payroll compliance.
- Ensure impeccable statutory compliance across all properties, staying ahead of labor law updates and regulatory requirements.
- Standardize HR processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across diverse properties to ensure operational consistency while respecting local nuances.
Employee Relations & Change Management
- Act as a trusted advisor to property managers and department heads on complex employee relations issues, grievances, and conflict resolution.
- Lead change management initiatives as the organization adopts new digital tools, HR tech, or operational structures.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Experience: 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3–5 years in a senior managerial or heading role. Experience in premium hospitality, retail, or service-oriented industries is highly preferred.
- Education: MBA or Post Graduate Degree in Human Resources.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of managing distributed teams (corporate + remote property units) and mentoring mid-level HR managers.
- Competencies: Strong command over labor laws, strategic workforce planning, PMS design, and HR analytics. Excellent emotional intelligence, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
