FOUNDING SALES LEAD — B2B SAAS (PLAYER-COACH)
Company: The Wise Parrot
Category: AI Revenue / B2B SaaS
Location: India | Remote / Hybrid
Experience: 6–12 years preferred
Reports directly to: Founder
Compensation: ₹8–10 LPA Fixed + Performance-linked OTE + Uncapped Incentives + ESOP Opportunity
WE ARE NOT HIRING SOMEONE TO MANAGE AN EXISTING SALES TEAM.
We are looking for the person who will build the sales engine of The Wise Parrot.
The Wise Parrot helps businesses convert more of the enquiries they already generate.
Businesses spend heavily on Meta, Google and other channels to generate leads.
But revenue often leaks after the enquiry comes in:
• Replies are delayed
• Customers are not understood properly
• Follow-ups are missed
• High-intent leads are not handed over at the right time
• Sales teams lose track of conversations
• Business owners don't know where revenue is getting lost
The Wise Parrot sits between customer enquiries and the sales team.
It helps businesses respond, qualify, follow up, identify buying intent, trigger human handovers and understand what is happening across their sales conversations.
We already have real customers using the product.
Now we need to build a predictable B2B sales machine around it.
That is what we want you to build.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
PHASE 1 — SELL PERSONALLY
Before managing a team, we want you close to customers.
You will personally:
• Prospect
• Run discovery calls
• Conduct demos
• Handle objections
• Follow up
• Negotiate
• Close customers
We want you to understand:
• Why do customers buy?
• Why don't they buy?
• Which ICP converts fastest?
• Which problem gets the strongest reaction?
• Which pitch works?
• Which objections kill deals?
• What makes someone ready to buy now?
You won't be managing sales from a dashboard.
You will first help us understand how Wise Parrot should be sold.
PHASE 2 — BUILD THE SALES PLAYBOOK
Once we start seeing patterns, you will turn them into a repeatable system.
You will help build:
• ICP definitions
• Prospecting strategy
• Messaging
• Cold outreach
• Discovery framework
• Demo structure
• Objection handling
• Follow-up sequences
• CRM stages
• Qualification rules
• Sales dashboards
• Forecasting
• Daily and weekly sales rhythms
Not a PowerPoint.
A sales system another person can actually use to sell.
PHASE 3 — BUILD THE TEAM
Once the sales motion starts working, you will help build the first sales team.
Initially 2–3 people. Then 5. Then more as the economics prove themselves.
You will:
• Interview
• Hire
• Onboard
• Train
• Coach
• Review calls
• Improve scripts
• Set targets
• Remove bottlenecks
• Hold the team accountable
Over time, the goal is for you to own B2B revenue for The Wise Parrot.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
You may be a strong fit if:
• You have personally sold B2B products or services
• You have experience in SaaS, CRM, MarTech, CPaaS, AI, automation or similar technology
• You are still comfortable picking up the phone and selling yourself
• You have managed or mentored salespeople before
• You understand outbound prospecting
• You understand CRM discipline
• You can diagnose why revenue isn't moving
• You can build processes from scratch
• You don't need a mature organisation around you to perform
• You are comfortable with ambiguity
• You move fast
• You take ownership
We especially value people who have helped build a sales function from 0 → 1.
YOU MAY NOT ENJOY THIS ROLE IF:
• You want a team of 20 people waiting for you on Day 1
• You only want to review dashboards and conduct meetings
• You believe prospecting is beneath a senior sales leader
• You need marketing to provide every lead
• You need perfect SOPs before getting started
• You want to inherit a mature sales machine
• You haven't personally sold anything in years
This is a builder role first and a management role second.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
FIRST 30 DAYS
Deeply understand the product, customers and market. Personally run sales conversations and help refine ICP, positioning, messaging and objection handling.
60–90 DAYS
Establish the beginnings of a repeatable:
Prospecting → Discovery → Demo → Follow-up → Close
sales motion.
NEXT 6 MONTHS
Hire, train and coach the first high-performance sales team.
12-MONTH AMBITION
Build a predictable B2B revenue organisation that can scale beyond the founder.
HOW WE THINK ABOUT THIS ROLE
At this stage:
Builder > Strategist
Closer > Administrator
Player-Coach > Corporate VP
We are not hiring you because we need somebody with “Head of Sales” written on their LinkedIn profile.
We are hiring you because we want someone who can eventually say:
“I built The Wise Parrot's revenue engine.”
COMPENSATION & UPSIDE
Fixed Compensation: ₹8–10 LPA
In addition:
• Performance-linked OTE
• Uncapped individual sales incentives
• Team-performance incentives as the team grows
• Milestone-based bonuses
• ESOP opportunity for an exceptional long-term leader
We want strong performers to be able to earn meaningfully more than their fixed compensation.
Performance should create upside.
THE AI ADVANTAGE
You won't just be building sales using traditional CRM reports.
We are also building an AI Sales Manager internally.
Over time, it will help analyse:
• Sales calls
• Demos
• Follow-ups
• Stalled opportunities
• Rep performance
• Objections
• Next-best actions
• Pipeline risks
• Coaching opportunities
You will help shape this system while using it to build The Wise Parrot's own sales organisation.
Our ambition is to build one of the most AI-native B2B sales teams in India.
IMPORTANT — HOW TO APPLY
Clicking “Apply” on LinkedIn alone will NOT complete your application.
We are deliberately looking for people who are willing to understand the opportunity before applying.
Within 24 hours of submitting your LinkedIn application, send us a 3–5 minute Loom video answering these 3 questions:
1. UNDERSTAND
What did you understand about The Wise Parrot — and what do you think you are actually being hired to build?
Don't simply repeat the job description.
Tell us in your own words:
• What problem does Wise Parrot solve?
• Who should buy it?
• What do you believe your responsibility in this role would be?
This tells us: Did you actually understand the business and the role?
2. SELL
Imagine you are speaking to an Indian business owner receiving 300+ customer enquiries every month.
You have 60–90 seconds.
Pitch The Wise Parrot to them.
Sell it to us as if we were that customer.
You do not need to know every feature of the product.
We want to see whether you can understand the customer's problem, communicate value and create enough interest for the next conversation.
This tells us: Can you sell?
3. BUILD
Imagine you join The Wise Parrot tomorrow.
There is no mature sales team waiting for you.
There is no perfect sales playbook.
You have the product, the founder and a market to go after.
What would you do in your first 30 days to start generating predictable paying B2B customers?
Tell us:
• Where would you start?
• Who would you target first?
• How would you generate pipeline?
• What would you personally do?
• What would you test?
• What would need to be true before you start hiring more salespeople?
This tells us: Can you build?
WHY WE ASK FOR THE LOOM
The three questions test the three things this role needs:
UNDERSTAND — Can you understand the business?
SELL — Can you sell?
BUILD — Can you create a sales engine from zero?
We are NOT looking for a professionally edited video.
A simple Loom, webcam or screen recording is completely fine.
We care about:
• How clearly you think
• How well you understand a business
• How you communicate
• How you sell
• How you approach ambiguity
• Whether you prepared
• Whether you take initiative
SEND YOUR LOOM WITHIN 24 HOURS OF APPLYING TO:
hello@thewiseparrot.com
EMAIL SUBJECT:
FOUNDING SALES LEAD | YOUR NAME | LOOM
PLEASE INCLUDE:
• Loom link
• LinkedIn profile
• Current city
• Notice period / earliest joining date
• Confirmation that you are comfortable with the ₹8–10 LPA fixed range + performance-linked upside
IMPORTANT:
Applications without the Loom video will not move to the interview stage.
If you don't understand every part of Wise Parrot perfectly, that's okay.
In fact, we don't want you to simply reproduce our language.
We want to see what YOU understood.
We are more interested in HOW YOU THINK than whether you guessed everything correctly.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE LOOM?
Shortlisted candidates will speak directly with the Founder.
No seven-round interview process.
No generic HR interrogation.
We will mostly discuss:
• How you would sell Wise Parrot
• Which customers you would target first
• How you would generate pipeline
• How you think about sales targets
• How you would improve a sales pitch
• How you would hire and coach the first salespeople
• What you would do if the current sales motion wasn't working
One of our discussions will revolve around this challenge:
“You joined The Wise Parrot today. You have 30 days. How would you get the first 10 new paying B2B customers predictably — and whom would you hire next?”
If building a sales engine sounds more exciting to you than inheriting somebody else's, we'd love to hear from you.
