Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad for a Lightning Arrester/Surge Arrester Design Engineer. The engineer will design and develop lightning and surge protection devices, including creating detailed product specifications, schematics, and mechanical layouts. Daily tasks include performing design calculations, collaborating with electrical and mechanical engineering teams, preparing CAD models and drawings, and reviewing prototypes for performance and safety compliance. The role involves working with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure design feasibility, conducting product testing and validation, and supporting documentation and certification processes. The engineer will also participate in design reviews, refine existing products, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and cost-effective design solutions.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Design Engineering and Product Design skills for creating and optimizing lightning and surge arrester solutions.
- Candidates should possess Electrical Engineering skills, with knowledge of power systems, insulation coordination, high-voltage equipment, and surge protection principles.
- Candidates should possess Mechanical Engineering skills to support structural integrity, material selection, and housing design for arresters.
- Candidates should possess Computer-Aided Design (CAD) skills for generating 2D/3D models, engineering drawings, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of relevant standards (e.g., IEC, IEEE) and safety regulations related to surge and lightning protection.
- Experience with laboratory testing, product validation, and failure analysis for electrical protection devices is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills, with attention to detail and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline; prior experience in arrester or high-voltage equipment design is an advantage.
