Role Description The OSP Engineer – Permitting and Traffic Control Plan is a full-time, on-site role based in Hyderabad. The role involves preparing and reviewing outside plant (OSP) designs, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards. Daily tasks include developing detailed traffic control plans for construction activities, reviewing drawings and route maps, and aligning project documentation with safety and regulatory requirements. The engineer will collaborate with field teams, government authorities, and project managers to schedule work, resolve permitting issues, and maintain accurate records throughout the project lifecycle. The position also requires regular monitoring of project progress, identifying risks related to permitting or traffic management, and recommending corrective actions to keep timelines and quality on track.
Qualifications
- Experience in OSP engineering, including design of fiber and telecom outside plant infrastructure and familiarity with relevant standards and codes.
- Skills in permitting processes, coordination with local authorities, and documentation required for municipal, utility, and right-of-way approvals.
- Ability to create and interpret traffic control plans, with knowledge of safety regulations and best practices for work zone and public traffic management.
- Proficiency in using engineering and design tools such as CAD or GIS-based applications, and comfort working with route maps and technical drawings.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail in reviewing plans and regulatory requirements.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, contractors, and government agencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Telecom) or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Prior experience in telecom or broadband projects, especially in OSP, permitting, or traffic management, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Hyderabad, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing regulatory or project conditions.
