Senior Legal Associate/Manager
Role Overview
The Senior Legal Associate/Manager-Legal supports the full lifecycle of the Company’s commercial and investment transactions - from drafting and negotiating agreements through to closing - across its B2C, B2B2C, distribution, partnership, private markets, and vendor engagements. This is a high ownership role offering broad transactional exposure in a fast-moving, multi-jurisdiction fintech environment, ideal for an early-career lawyer keen to build depth quickly.
Reporting to the group’s General Counsel and Head of Compliance, you will be fully responsible for the strategic documentation in new business verticals, establishing robust, scalable legal frameworks to support our client's next phase of global expansion.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Provide general legal advisory support on financial investments, data privacy, IP and other commercial matters.
- Be willing to take absolute ownership of the legal architecture, structuring, and drafting of strategic documentation for new business verticals and investment product launches.
- Independently draft, review, negotiate, and finalise high-stakes investment agreements across varied business verticals (including private equity or third-party funds onboarding, strategic B2B2C client engagements, corporate partnerships, and critical vendor engagements). This includes expert handling of shareholding agreements, partnership agreements, services agreements, and fund-related documentation.
- Evaluate and render legal advice in support of new investment products and services for the different corporate functions and business departments in the company.
- Conduct end-to-end due diligence on diverse and strategic transactions, taking ownership to drive them through to closure.
- Liaise with internal teams and external counterparties on legal, secretarial, and compliance documentation, representing and upholding the Company’s interests in high-stakes negotiations with partners, vendors, and clients.
- Advise on the impact of laws, regulations, notifications, orders, etc. with respect to the current or proposed business activities of the company across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proactively track upcoming changes in laws and regulations applicable to the Company’s business, and flag their potential impact to the team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised university; an additional qualification in commerce, business, or finance is an advantage.
- 7 years of post-qualification experience, preferably gained in a law firm, financial-services institution, or fintech.
- Proven track record of independently leading legal strategy and documentation for entirely new business lines, alternative investment products, or complex corporate ventures.
- Exposure to PE/VC transactions, investment funds, or financial-services documentation.
