Legal Counsel, India

A day in the life:
Based in Bangalore, and reporting to Senior Legal Counsel, India, you will be a part of an inclusive lululemon APAC Legal Team and will be responsible for a broad variety of legal matters including:
- Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor, brand & community, technology, lease and license, and service agreements.
- Partnering with Legal Ops to developing, maintaining, and improving contract templates, playbooks, and legal processes to support efficient business operations.
- Providing practical, risk-based legal advice to business stakeholders on commercial, operational, and strategic matters.
- Partnering with the People & Culture team on employment-related matters, including interpretation of employment laws, workplace policies, employee relations issues, disciplinary actions, investigations, grievances, and employee separations.
- Supporting compliance with applicable labour and employment laws and assisting with the review and implementation of employment policies, processes, and related documentation.
- Monitoring and advising on legal and regulatory developments relevant to lululemon's operations in India, including employment, commercial, corporate, privacy, and consumer protection laws.
- Conducting legal research and delivering clear, actionable guidance for business partners.
- Managing and coordinating matters with external counsel, regulators, and other advisors as required.
- Providing legal support on strategic projects and other business initiatives as directed by the Senior Legal Counsel, India.
- Handling any ad-hoc tasks assigned.
Qualifications:
- LL.B. degree from a recognized university; qualified to practice law in India.
- 4–7 years of post-qualification experience.
- Experience in GCC and retail an advantage.
- Strong experience in commercial contracting and employment law.

- Fluent in both written and spoken English.
- With strong business acumen, strong collaborative and good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels, and be a good team player. At the same time, must be a self-starter who shows initiative.
- Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills, detailed-minded and ability to work independently.
