We are seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Associate with a minimum of 1 year of professional experience to join our legal team and contribute to departmental coordination, drafting, research, and court-related activities.
Job DescriptionAs a Legal Associate at Pirgal Consulting, you will play an active role in managing legal processes, coordinating with government departments, handling client matters, and supporting litigation and compliance activities. This role requires strong drafting skills, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to handle field visits involving GST, Income Tax departments, and court proceedings.
Key Responsibilities1. Government Department Coordination· Visit and coordinate with GST Department for submissions, assessments, clarifications, and follow-up activities.
· Manage tasks at the Income Tax Department, including filings, representation support, document submissions, and status updates.
· Liaise with officers and authorities to ensure smooth and timely resolution of departmental matters.
2. Court Procedures & Support
· Conduct regular court visits (Civil Courts, Criminal Courts, Tribunals) for filing, obtaining certified copies, attending hearings, and case follow-up.
· Assist senior counsel with case preparation, evidence compilation, legal documentation, and research.
3. Drafting & Documentation· Draft legal documents including notices, replies, agreements, petitions, affidavits, applications, and compliance-related documents.
· Review, proofread, and refine legal drafts to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
4. Legal Research & Analysis· Research case laws, statutes, circulars, and departmental notifications related to GST, Income Tax, civil and criminal matters.
· Prepare detailed case briefs, summaries, and legal opinions under the guidance of senior team members.
5. Client Coordination & Compliance· Interact with clients for document collection, clarifications, and status updates.
· Maintain legal files, trackers, and hearing schedules.
· Support the organization in ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
6. Additional Responsibilities· Collaborate with internal teams to provide legal insights and support business functions.
· Stay updated on relevant legal changes, procedural updates, and industry best practices.
· Perform any other legal duties assigned by supervising attorneys or management.
Required Qualifications· LLB degree with Bar Council enrollment.
· Minimum 1 year of experience in litigation, compliance, or departmental legal work.
· Strong knowledge of court procedures, GST, and Income Tax processes.
· Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills.
· Ability to manage field visits efficiently and meet time-sensitive deadlines.
· Strong communication and documentation skills.
· Proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of independent responsibility.
