Role Overview
As the Lead Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for creating a compelling and consistent brand experience across all physical touchpoints. This role blends creative storytelling, retail strategy, and execution excellence to drive footfall, engagement, and conversion. You will play a key role in translating the brand’s identity into impactful in-store experiences, ensuring every retail space reflects premium positioning, modern aesthetics, and customer-centric design.
Key Responsibilities
- Visual Strategy & Brand Storytelling
Develop and execute a visual merchandising strategy aligned with brand identity and seasonal campaigns
Translate product stories into engaging retail displays that enhance customer experience
Maintain consistency across all stores, kiosks, and retail formats
2. Store Experience Design
Conceptualize and implement store layouts, window displays, and in-store visual zones
Optimize product placement and space utilization to maximize visibility and sales
Ensure stores reflect a premium, clean, and modern aesthetic (benchmarking brands like Zara)
3. Campaign & Seasonal Execution
Lead execution of new collection launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns
Collaborate with marketing and design teams to bring campaigns alive in physical spaces
Ensure timely rollout across all retail locations
4. Retail Performance Optimization
Analyze store performance metrics and customer behavior to refine VM strategies
Drive conversion through visual cues, product highlighting, and storytelling
Continuously test and iterate layouts for better results
5. Team Leadership & Training
Lead and mentor a team of VM executives and store staff
Create VM guidelines, SOPs, and playbooks for scalability
Conduct regular training to ensure execution consistency across locations
6. Vendor & Production Management
Manage external vendors for fixtures, props, and display materials
Ensure cost-effective production without compromising brand standards
Oversee installation and quality checks
7. Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with Brand, Marketing, Retail Operations, and Product teams
Align VM strategies with inventory, merchandising, and campaign calendars
Key Requirements Experience
8+ years in Visual Merchandising within retail (preferably fashion/apparel) Experience in D2C brands or premium retail environments is highly preferred
Skills
Strong sense of aesthetics, design, and spatial planning
Deep understanding of retail psychology and consumer behavior
Ability to balance creativity with commercial impact
Proficiency in VM tools, design software, and presentation skills
Excellent project management and execution capabilities
