Role Description The Transport Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat, responsible for overseeing daily school transport operations. The role involves planning and managing bus routes, coordinating pick-up and drop-off schedules, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Transport Officer monitors vehicle maintenance, maintains transport-related records, and liaises with drivers, vendors, school staff, and families to address transport inquiries or issues promptly. This position also includes managing incident reporting, supporting emergency response procedures, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and student safety.
Qualifications
- Strong Transportation and Logistics Management skills to oversee routing, scheduling, and safe movement of students.
- Experience in Shipping and Procurement to coordinate with external vendors, manage contracts, and ensure timely availability of vehicles and resources.
- Customer Service skills to communicate effectively with parents, students, drivers, and school staff, and resolve transport-related concerns professionally.
- Ability to maintain accurate documentation, monitor compliance with local transport regulations, and implement safety protocols.
- Proficiency in using basic computer applications and transport management tools for planning and reporting.
- Prior experience in school transport or fleet management is an advantage.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in logistics, administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time constraints.
