Role Description The TIG-arc Welder role is a full-time, on-site position located in Mumbai. The welder will perform precision TIG and arc welding on metal components, following technical drawings, welding procedures, and safety regulations. Daily tasks include preparing materials, setting up welding equipment, inspecting joints, and ensuring clean and accurate welds on a variety of metals. The role involves routine quality checks, basic maintenance of tools and welding machines, and collaboration with fabricators, supervisors, and quality control staff to meet project timelines. The welder is expected to maintain a clean, safe work area and adhere to company safety policies and industry standards at all times.
Qualifications
- Strong practical experience in TIG and arc welding, including work with common industrial metals (e.g., carbon steel, stainless steel).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication instructions.
- Knowledge of welding safety practices, use of PPE, and safe operation of welding and cutting equipment.
- Experience with joint preparation, basic metal fabrication, grinding, and finishing to meet quality standards.
- Attention to detail, steady hand-eye coordination, and ability to produce clean, accurate, and structurally sound welds.
- Capability to work on-site in a workshop or industrial environment, including standing for extended periods and handling moderate physical tasks.
- Basic understanding of quality control procedures, visual inspection, and measurement tools (e.g., gauges, calipers).
- Relevant technical training, trade certification, or apprenticeship in welding or metal fabrication is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team, follow instructions, and meet project deadlines.
