About California Design Den
California Design Den (CDD) is a US-based premium home & lifestyle brand — sheet sets, organic and Egyptian cotton lines, bath towels, and more — sold across Amazon (US & UK), Walmart, Macy's, Target, and our own DTC site. One of the fastest-growing home textile brands in the US, we reach millions of customers, and our growth is powered by sharp merchandising, disciplined planning, and data-led decisioning. We move fast, we care about craft, and we give our people real ownership.
The Role
We're hiring a Supply Chain Planner (Inventory Planning) to keep inventory in front of sales as CDD scales. Right now the business is running behind demand — inventory sits behind sales, not ahead of it. This role runs the day-to-day replenishment and PO planning that closes that gap: dual-source purchase planning (our NMK factory + China), the China PO pipeline, in-transit netting, and shortage allocation — so hero SKUs never stock out and capital isn't tied up in the wrong stock.
This is a hands-on execution planner role — you turn the plan into POs and keep the pipeline moving. You'll work from our Thane hub and report to the Sr. Manager, Inventory Planning. It's a priority hire (not a trainee seat).
What You'll Own
Replenishment & PO planning
- Run weekly replenishment across Amazon FBA, Walmart WFS, and Shopify — convert demand and cover positions into purchase and production orders
- Support dual-source PO planning across NMK (factory) and China — balancing lead times, MOQs, and capacity
- Apply container / MOQ-to-MCQ logic so orders ship in efficient, cost-optimal quantities
China PO pipeline & in-transit
- Track the China PO pipeline — order status, production, dispatch, and in-transit netting
- Maintain visibility of on-sea and inbound stock; net it against demand so nothing is over- or under-ordered
Shortage allocation & stockout prevention
- Allocate constrained stock across channels and SKUs under capacity limits (ABC / revenue-priority)
- Review Weeks-of-Cover (WOC) and Net-Order-Days (NOD); validate gaps and flag stockout risk early
- Protect in-stock on top-revenue SKUs; support AWD / 3PL storage optimisation to avoid excess and aged-inventory fees
Planning inputs & follow-through
- Provide planning cuts for launches, promotions, deal periods, and seasonality
- Follow up with the factory and suppliers on production, dispatch, and intake readiness
- Support forecast-vs-actual review and keep planning data clean and current
Must Have
- Core inventory / replenishment planning experience (3–6 years) — this is not a trainee seat
- Fluent in cover, weeks-of-inventory, sell-through, safety stock, lead times, MOQ/MCQ, and container logic
- Strong Excel/Sheets; comfort working from BI dashboards (Power BI / BigQuery-based reports)
- High attention to detail and strong follow-through with factories and suppliers
- Calm under supply constraints; sound judgment on allocation and prioritisation
Good to Have
- E-commerce inventory exposure (Amazon FBA and/or Walmart WFS) — strongly preferred
- China-sourcing / import PO experience
- Exposure to ERP / WMS (we're transitioning to Odoo ERP + WMS)
Who You Are
- You keep inventory in front of sales — you see a stockout coming before it lands
- You turn plans into POs and follow through with factories and suppliers until stock arrives
- You're calm under constraints and allocate scarce stock sensibly
- You flag risks early — the Sr. Manager gets no surprises
- You consume the data platform to plan; you don't need to rebuild it
What We Offer
- A high-impact, P0-critical seat — your planning directly protects revenue on hero SKUs
- Ownership of the China PO pipeline and weekly replenishment across marketplaces
- A modern data stack (BigQuery reports, Power BI; moving to Odoo ERP + WMS)
- Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
