Job details:
Company Description A.R. Life Sciences (ARL) is a fast-growing manufacturer of bulk drug APIs and intermediates, established in 2007 and headquartered in Hyderabad, India. The company operates three manufacturing facilities — two in Hyderabad and one in Visakhapatnam. With a team of over 350 professionals and a strong, long-standing client base across domestic and international markets, ARL is driven by robust in-house R&D and a commitment to quality, compliance, and innovation across its chemical and pharmaceutical portfolios.
Role Description We are looking for a Sr. Executive / Assistant Manager – Specialty Chemicals, to be based full-time, on-site in Hyderabad. This role sits within the commercial team and is responsible for growing ARL's specialty chemicals business in the cosmetic, industrial, and electrochemical segments — from identifying markets and customers to closing deals and ensuring smooth order execution.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities for specialty chemicals across domestic and international markets
- Lead the charge in establishing ARL's footprint in the cosmetic, industrial, and electrochemical segments — scouting customers, understanding segment-specific needs, and building the pipeline from the ground up
- Own the commercial cycle for your accounts — pricing, quotations, and contract/negotiation support
- Work closely with production, quality, and R&D to ensure customer inquiries are answered quickly
- Track the market — pricing movements, competitor activity, and emerging demand
- Maintain sales pipelines, forecasts, and reporting that give leadership visibility into the business, including progress on new-segment development
- Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, and industry events, and build the kind of relationships that turn one-time buyers into long-term partners
- Support the marketing collateral and strategic initiatives that build ARL's brand and reputation, especially as the company establishes itself in these new segments
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of experience in specialty chemicals marketing and business development — ideally with exposure to cosmetic, industrial, or electrochemical segments — is non-negotiable
- Entrepreneurial mindset — comfortable building something new rather than just managing an existing book of business
- Strong communication skills
- Sharp analytical instincts paired with real negotiation skill — you can read a market and hold your ground in a deal
- A bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Business, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent in Marketing/International Business is a plus
- Comfort working independently in a fast-moving, compliance-driven environment, juggling multiple accounts and priorities at once
