Role Description The Senior Resident Emergency role is a full-time, on-site position based at Fortis Healthcare in Noida. The Senior Resident will provide immediate assessment, stabilization, and management of patients presenting to the Emergency Department, including triage, ordering and interpreting investigations, and initiating evidence-based treatment. Responsibilities include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring timely referrals and admissions, and supporting junior medical staff through clinical guidance and supervision. The role also involves documenting clinical care accurately, adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory standards, participating in emergency drills, and contributing to quality improvement and clinical audits. Senior Residents are expected to work in rotational shifts, maintain high standards of ethical practice, and support a patient-centered environment.
Qualifications
- Relevant medical degree (MBBS) from a recognized institution and completion of internship; postgraduate qualification or residency training in Emergency Medicine or a related specialty is preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in emergency care, including triage, resuscitation, trauma management, and acute medical and surgical care.
- Ability to interpret diagnostic tests such as ECGs, radiology reports, and laboratory results, and to make timely, evidence-based clinical decisions.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, with a compassionate and respectful approach.
- Capability to supervise and mentor junior residents and clinical staff, supporting training, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
- Experience with hospital information systems, electronic medical records, and adherence to documentation, safety, and infection control protocols.
- Comfort working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Current medical council registration and compliance with local licensing and regulatory requirements; certifications in ACLS/BLS/PALS are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an Emergency Department or critical care setting is highly desirable.
