About the Role
leadIC Design Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a highly skilled Senior Emulation / Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer to join our growing semiconductor engineering team. In this role, you will drive ASIC/SoC emulation, pre-silicon validation, and hardware-software co-validation using industry-leading Cadence Palladium platforms.
The ideal candidate should possess strong hands-on experience with Cadence Palladium (XP/Z1/Z2/Z3), deep expertise in emulation flows, and the ability to enable early software bring-up and system validation for complex SoCs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, build, and maintain ASIC/SoC emulation environments on Cadence Palladium platforms.
- Own Palladium compile, partitioning, build, and debug flows.
- Configure and optimize ICE (In-Circuit Emulation) and Virtual Interface (VIF) environments.
- Enable pre-silicon validation for complex SoCs and support firmware/software bring-up.
- Develop and maintain SystemC/C++ transactors, BFMs, and reference models.
- Integrate RTL with emulation platforms and collaborate with RTL, DV, firmware, and software teams.
- Debug hardware/software issues using Lauterbach, JTAG, CoreSight/UltraSoC, and waveform/debug tools.
- Optimize emulation performance, capacity, runtime, and compile efficiency.
- Develop automation using Python, TCL, Perl, and Shell scripting.
- Support system-level validation of complex SoCs and interfaces.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to resolve architecture, RTL, and software integration issues.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience in ASIC/SoC Emulation, Pre-Silicon Validation, or Verification.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cadence Palladium (XP, Z1, Z2, or Z3).
- Deep understanding of:
- Palladium compile/build flows
- Clocking methodologies
- ICE (In-Circuit Emulation)
- Virtual Interface (VIF)
- Hardware-Software Co-Validation
- Experience with RTL languages:
- Verilog
- SystemVerilog
- VHDL (preferred)
- Strong programming skills in:
- SystemC
- C/C++
- Strong scripting expertise in:
- Python
- TCL
- Perl
- Shell scripting
- Experience using debug tools:
- Lauterbach
- JTAG
- ARM CoreSight
- UltraSoC
- Strong understanding of SoC architecture and subsystem integration.
- Knowledge of industry-standard protocols including:
- AXI
- PCIe
- DDR/LPDDR
- USB
- SPI
- Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with other emulation platforms:
- Synopsys ZeBu
- Siemens Veloce
- Cadence Protium
- FPGA prototyping experience using HAPS or Xilinx platforms.
- UVM verification and regression debug experience.
- Experience in firmware validation and embedded software bring-up.
- Knowledge of ARM or x86-based SoCs.
- Experience with networking ASICs, Ethernet, RDMA, RoCE, SmartNICs, DPU, AI accelerators, or AI fabrics.
- Familiarity with Linux-based embedded environments.
