We are inviting youngsters who like to be outdoors, meeting people, visiting interesting hang out places and talking about food and drinks to the best people in the trade, to be a part of the team reimaging the way young people consume coffee in India.
One way to look at this is that it is a sales job with targets. The other, is that it is an opportunity to be one among a small team of enthusiastic people who are questioning every settled convention of the coffee business. Yes, sales and account management is the key functional skill that you will sharpen here, under the guidance of someone who has done B2B sales for decades.
But, that's not all. We promise you immense variety in the job. Concept selling, product demonstrations, solutioning, negotiations, account management, and farming for growth are skills that you will learn. Cafes, restaurants, caterers, cloud kitchens, food tech aggregators, event managers, QSRs, retailers and corporates are the type of clients you will interact with. Baristas, beverage managers, General Managers, product managers, owners and entrepreneurs are the profile of people you will build your network among.
At Chilld, we aim to build and dominate cold brew as a category. If you are a coffee enthusiast or know someone who is, you already know the potential this category holds for the future, specially in a market like India.
As a brand, we enjoy being unconventional. We value industry experience but we don't hold the lack of it against you. So, who are we really looking for? Here is a checklist of 'qualifications' for the role:
- Respect for sales as a function and for people who are in sales
- Ambition to change something in the world and the discipline to make it happen
- A habit of working hard, not because it is expected of you, but because that is how you are
- Smart thinking - not mensa level IQ but common sense to solve practical problems and navigate the big bad world on your own
- Trustworthy and trusting
- Work in an organised way
- Any first hand understanding of the f&b or horeca business is a plus
We are a new company run by experienced people. Your uncle wouldn't have heard about us but we make up for it through double the exposure, learning and growth opportunities.
In the beginning, your compensation might be a tad lower than market. But it will grow faster, not like the conventional 8% per year at established companies. That is the trade off.
