Role Description The Production Manager – Edible Oil will oversee end-to-end production activities at an edible oil manufacturing facility in Mangaluru. This is a full-time, on-site role responsible for planning daily production schedules, monitoring process parameters, and ensuring optimal utilization of machinery, materials, and labor. The role includes supervising shop-floor teams, coordinating with quality, maintenance, and supply chain departments, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental standards. The Production Manager will track production KPIs, maintain documentation, and implement process improvements to achieve target yields, minimize downtime, and ensure timely delivery. The position also involves troubleshooting production issues, supporting audits, and contributing to strategic capacity and efficiency planning.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in production management, preferably in edible oil or food processing, with proven ability to manage end-to-end plant operations.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Kaizen.
- Understanding of quality assurance, food safety standards, and regulatory compliance relevant to edible oil manufacturing.
- Effective people management skills, including team supervision, workforce planning, and performance monitoring.
- Proficiency in production reporting, basic data analysis, and use of ERP or manufacturing management software.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and safety.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Production) or a related technical field; a diploma in a relevant discipline may be considered with strong experience.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing plant environment and willingness to work in shifts if required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management.
