Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai for a Production Manager in the garment industry. The Production Manager will oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, including planning production schedules, allocating resources, and coordinating with cutting, sewing, finishing, and packaging teams. Daily responsibilities include monitoring workflow on the shop floor, ensuring adherence to quality standards, optimizing production efficiency, and resolving operational issues. The role involves close collaboration with design, merchandising, procurement, and quality assurance to meet delivery timelines and cost targets. The Production Manager will also implement process improvements, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, maintain accurate production records, and supervise and mentor team members.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in garment manufacturing operations, including cutting, stitching, finishing, and packing processes.
- Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and capacity management within a garment factory setting.
- Ability to manage shop-floor teams, delegate tasks effectively, and provide clear performance feedback.
- Knowledge of garment quality control standards, inspections, and defect reduction methods.
- Familiarity with inventory management, material handling, and coordination with procurement.
- Competence in using production reports, basic Excel, and factory management tools for tracking output and efficiency.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Understanding of workplace safety, compliance requirements, and ethical manufacturing practices.
- Relevant experience as a Production Manager or in a similar supervisory role in the garment industry; prior experience in Mumbai or similar markets is an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in Textile Engineering, Garment Technology, Fashion Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
