Role Description The Maintenance Engineer role at PLACEWELL INDUSTRIAL SERVICES is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for conducting routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and utilities in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Daily tasks include diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, coordinating with operations teams to minimize downtime, and documenting maintenance activities. The role involves implementing safety standards, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with vendors and service providers for timely maintenance support. The Maintenance Engineer will also assist in planning maintenance schedules and recommending upgrades or replacements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, with experience in troubleshooting and repair.
- Ability to perform preventive and predictive maintenance, interpret technical manuals and drawings, and use relevant diagnostic tools and instruments.
- Understanding of safety regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements related to machinery and plant operations.
- Proficiency in maintenance documentation, basic computer skills, and familiarity with maintenance management systems or ERP tools.
- Effective communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field), with prior experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and adapt to shift-based or extended hours as required by maintenance schedules.
