Job Purpose:
To ensure uninterrupted operation of Pressure Diecasting plant machinery and utilities through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, while maintaining safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
- Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all machines and equipment.
- Attend breakdowns promptly and ensure minimum machine downtime.
- Identify recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
Machine & Equipment Management
- Maintain and monitor performance of production machines, utilities, and support systems (compressors, DG sets, chillers, etc.).
- Maintain equipment history cards and maintenance records.
- Coordinate with suppliers or service providers for major repairs or AMC services.
Spare Parts & Inventory Control
- Plan and maintain stock of critical spares and consumables.
- Monitor spare usage and control maintenance costs.
- Coordinate with the store/purchase department for timely availability of parts.
Electrical & Mechanical Systems
- Handle troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Monitor parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and pressure for critical machines.
- Ensure safety of electrical panels, motors, and circuits.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and inspection reports.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
- Support ISO/IATF/TPM documentation and audits.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures during maintenance work.
- Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas.
Continuous Improvement
- Work on energy-saving, cost-reduction, and reliability-improvement projects.
- Implement Kaizen, TPM, and 5S practices within the department.
- Suggest modifications in machines for better performance or ease of maintenance.
Team & Coordination
- Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors.
- Coordinate with production and quality departments for maintenance planning.
- Provide training to operators on basic machine care and daily checks.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Experience in CNC / VMC / press machines / utility equipment
- Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&ID
- Proficiency in MS Office / ERP / Maintenance software
- Knowledge of 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and Safety Standards
- Good communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering
- 3–8 years of experience in maintenance (preferably in manufacturing / automotive / engineering industry)
