Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong background in fabrication and heavy fabrication manufacturing. The ideal candidate will lead the Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance team, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, preventive maintenance, breakdown reduction, safety compliance, and continuous improvement of plant assets.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance activities across the manufacturing facility.
Develop and implement Preventive Maintenance (PM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), and Breakdown Maintenance schedules.
Ensure maximum availability and reliability of production equipment.
Plan maintenance activities for fabrication equipment such as:
CNC Laser Cutting Machines
Plasma Cutting Machines
Press Brakes
Welding Machines (MIG, TIG, SAW)
Robotic Welding Systems
Hydraulic Presses
Rolling & Bending Machines
Shot Blasting & Painting Systems
Air Compressors
EOT Cranes & Hoists
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for major equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor equipment performance through KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, OEE, and machine uptime.
Manage annual maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and vendor development.
Coordinate with Production, Quality, Planning, and Projects teams for maintenance planning.
Drive TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Ensure statutory compliance related to electrical safety, machinery maintenance, and environmental regulations.
Train and mentor maintenance engineers, technicians, and supervisors.
Lead installation, commissioning, and capacity expansion projects.
Required Technical Skills
Mechanical Maintenance of heavy fabrication machinery
Electrical Maintenance (LT Panels, Motors, Drives, MCC, VFD, PLC basics)
Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems
Welding Equipment Maintenance
Robotic Welding Maintenance (preferred)
CNC Machine Maintenance
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
TPM, RCA, FMEA
Utility Maintenance (Compressors, DG Sets, Cooling Systems)
EOT Crane Maintenance
Spare Parts Planning & Inventory Management
SAP PM Module / ERP Systems
MS Excel & Maintenance Reporting
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Additional certification in Maintenance Management or TPM is an advantage.
Experience
10–15+ years of experience in Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance.
Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within Fabrication / Heavy Fabrication / Structural Steel / Engineering Manufacturing.
Experience handling large production facilities with multiple fabrication processes.
