The Opportunity
We are looking for a hands-on, strategic HR Manager to build and lead our people function as we scale our operations across Siliguri and Bengaluru.
In this role, you will own three critical pillars end-to-end: attracting top technical talent, running compliant HR operations, and building an empowering workplace culture. Working closely with leadership, you will design processes from scratch, mentor a growing HR team, and drive strategic workforce planning.
Key Responsibilities
1. Technical Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Full-Cycle Hiring: Lead end-to-end recruitment for AI/ML engineers, full-stack (MERN) developers, DevOps, QA, product management, sales, and support roles.
- Process Leadership: Collaborate with hiring managers to define job profiles, draft compelling JDs, and establish structured assessment processes.
- Active Sourcing: Leverage platforms like LinkedIn, Naukri, Instahyre, communities, employee referrals, and direct outreach to source top candidates.
- Campus & Early Talent Partnerships: Build robust campus recruitment and internship pipelines with leading engineering colleges in North Bengal, the North-East, and beyond.
- Candidate Experience & Metrics: Oversee offer extensions, compensation negotiations, background verifications, and smooth onboarding. Track key recruitment metrics including time-to-hire, offer acceptance rate, source quality, and cost-per-hire.
2. HR Operations & Statutory Compliance
- Lifecycle Operations: Oversee onboarding, documentation, confirmation processes, internal transfers, exits, and full-and-final (F&F) settlements.
- Data & HRMS Management: Maintain precise employee records, manage HRMS systems, and ensure data privacy and confidentiality.
- Payroll Coordination: Partner with the finance team to manage monthly payroll inputs, leave tracking, and attendance verification.
- Statutory Compliance: Guarantee full compliance across statutory mandates including PF, ESI, Professional Tax (West Bengal & Karnataka), Shops & Establishments registrations, Gratuity, and POSH Act (including leading the Internal Committee).
- Policy & Employee Relations: Draft and update company policies, employee handbooks, appointment letters, and internship contracts. Manage grievances and employee relations matters fairly and transparently.
3. People Engagement, Growth & Strategy
- Performance & Career Pathways: Design and execute annual appraisal cycles, goal-setting frameworks, and 30/60/90-day integration plans for new hires.
- Culture & Engagement: Plan company-wide engagement initiatives, recognition programs, town halls, and team-building events across both delivery locations.
- Retention & Feedback: Conduct pulse surveys and stay/exit interviews to generate actionable insights for improving retention.
- Learning & Upskilling: Facilitate training programs, technical certifications, and skill development sessions.
- Employer Branding: Position the company as a premier technology employer of choice in Siliguri, the North-East, and Bengaluru.
- Leadership & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and set goal targets for the HR Executive and HR Trainee.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience: Proven track record as an HR Generalist or HR Manager in a tech company or fast-growing environment.
- Recruitment Expertise: Demonstrated experience hiring for specialized technical roles (MERN, AI/ML, DevOps, QA).
- Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of labor laws and statutory compliance in West Bengal and Karnataka.
- Leadership: Ability to lead small teams, influence stakeholders, and work directly with executive leadership.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
