Human Resources Manager
Location: Onsite- Sector 75, Mohali (Punjab)
Compensation: 45,000-50,000/per month
Shift timings: Night shift (8:30PM to 5:30AM IST)

Role Summary
The HR Manager, Mohali owns end-to-end HR delivery for Suna's India operations, supporting both internal Suna employees and client-facing Employer of Record (EOR) workers based in the region. This role leads the local People Operations team and is the senior HR presence in Mohali, responsible for statutory compliance, employee support, payroll administration, recruiting, onboarding, and HR systems integrity for a growing, distributed workforce. The HR Manager partners closely with the Director, People Operations and global People Operations leadership to ensure India-based execution stays aligned with Suna's global People standards while addressing local regulatory and cultural requirements. This role also supports intercompany projects that connect the Mohali office to broader company initiatives. Success requires deep knowledge of Indian employment law, strong people-management skills, and the ability to operate independently as the primary HR authority for the region.
Core Components
1. Team Leadership & Regional HR Ownership
Tasks/Expectations
- Manage and develop local HR/People Operations staff in Mohali, setting priorities and holding the team accountable to service standards.
- Serve as the senior HR point of contact and decision-maker for the Mohali office.
- Own end-to-end HR service delivery for both internal Suna employees and client (EOR) employees based in India.
- Build capacity and processes to support continued growth of the India-based workforce.
Success Indicators
- Local team operates with clear ownership and consistent service quality.
- Escalations requiring the Director's involvement are limited to genuinely complex matters.
- Team members are engaged, developing, and retained.
2. HR Compliance & Statutory Management
Tasks/Expectations
- Maintain compliance with Indian labor law and statutory requirements, including PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, POSH, and Labour Welfare Fund obligations.
- Partner with global People Operations leadership and external advisors to interpret and operationalize regulatory changes affecting the Mohali office.
- Own statutory filings, registers, and documentation required for local and client audits.
- Proactively flag compliance risks before they become issues.
Success Indicators
- Clean statutory and client audits with minimal findings.
- Filings and documentation are complete and submitted on time.
- Regulatory changes are identified and addressed ahead of enforcement deadlines.
3. Employee Support & Relations
Tasks/Expectations
- Serve as the primary escalation point for HR-related inquiries and concerns from internal employees and EOR/client-based workers in India.
- Manage employee relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, and workplace conflicts, in accordance with local law and company policy.
- Ensure timely, professional resolution of employee requests and issues.
- Escalate sensitive or high-risk matters to the Director, People Operations as appropriate.
Success Indicators
- Employee issues are resolved promptly and consistently.
- Strong trust and credibility with both internal and client-based employees.
- Minimal repeat or escalated complaints traceable to unclear handling.
4. Recruiting & Onboarding
Tasks/Expectations
- Lead full-cycle recruiting for internal and client-based roles in the Mohali office, from sourcing through offer.
- Coordinate and oversee onboarding for new hires and EOR employees, ensuring a consistent, compliant experience.
- Manage employee lifecycle changes — role updates, transfers, compensation changes, and offboarding.
- Partner with global teams to align local hiring and onboarding practices with company-wide standards.
Success Indicators
- Open positions are filled within expected timelines with qualified candidates.
- New hires report a smooth, well-organized onboarding experience.
- Lifecycle changes are processed accurately and on time.
5. Payroll Administration & HR Systems
Tasks/Expectations
- Administer and oversee payroll processes for India-based internal and client employees, including data validation and issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate employee records across HRIS, payroll, and client systems, ensuring audit-readiness at all times.
- Partner with payroll vendors and internal finance/payroll teams to resolve discrepancies.
- Support data audits, reconciliations, and system improvements.
Success Indicators
- Payroll is processed accurately and on time with minimal corrections.
- HR systems and records maintain a high standard of data accuracy.
- Audit requests can be fulfilled quickly due to well-maintained records.
6. Intercompany Project Support & Global Partnership
Tasks/Expectations
- Represent the Mohali office in cross-functional and global People Operations initiatives and projects.
- Share local market insight and feedback to help shape global People processes and policies.
- Support the rollout and local adoption of company-wide HR systems, programs, and initiatives.
- Maintain strong working relationships with global People Operations leaders and other cross-functional partners.
Success Indicators
- Global initiatives are successfully implemented in Mohali on schedule.
- Local insights measurably influence global process or policy decisions.
- Strong, collaborative working relationships across regions.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in a people-management or team lead capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, POSH, and related requirements).
- Experience managing full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Experience with payroll coordination/administration and HRIS or People Operations systems.
- Strong employee relations experience, including handling grievances and disciplinary matters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to operate independently as the senior HR presence in a regional office while staying aligned with global standards.
Preferred
- Experience supporting EOR, staffing, MSP, or contingent workforce models.
- Experience supporting both internal employees and client-facing/contract workers.
- Experience partnering with distributed or global HR/People teams.
- HR-related degree or certification (e.g., MBA-HR, CHRP, SHRM-CP, or equivalent).
- Experience contributing to or leading HR process improvement projects.
