About the Role
This ad hoc analytics role supports the commercial team of a US oncology launch brand. You will answer open-ended business questions from various stakeholders (brand, sales, marketing, market access, medical) by leveraging 30+ client data sources. This involves deciding which data to use, applying business rules, and presenting findings clearly to non-technical audiences. You will inherit and build upon an existing SQL codebase on Databricks.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer open-ended business questions from commercial stakeholders using claims, EMR/APLD, NRx/TRx sales data, payer data, CRM and digital engagement data.
- Write and maintain SQL on Databricks; use Python where modelling or automation calls for it.
- Apply the right business rules to each data source and know when a source can and can't answer a question.
- Connect today's request with previous ones to provide a consistent, holistic picture to the brand team.
- Deliver findings in Excel and PowerPoint that a non-technical stakeholder can act on.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on experience on US pharma commercial data in an analytics role.
- Experience in an ad hoc request model (e.g., ZS APO, ProcDNA-style FTE engagement, in-house pharma analytics team).
- Strong SQL skills, used daily on large datasets.
- Working knowledge of Databricks or a similar platform.
- Solid understanding of the US pharma commercial landscape: HCPs, accounts, payers, channels, and metrics like TRx, NRx, share, line of therapy and persistency.
- A track record of figuring things out independently: forming hypotheses, testing against data, and iterating.
- Able to start immediately or within 15 days.
- Oncology experience, especially on a launch or pre/post-launch tracking (nice to have).
- Python for modelling or automation (nice to have).
- Digital channel, website engagement or market access analytics (nice to have).
- Exposure to Javelin, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx or KNIME (nice to have).
