Role Description The Assistant Cafe Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at Zane’s in South Mumbai. This role supports overall cafe operations, including supervising daily service, coordinating staff schedules, and ensuring smooth opening and closing procedures. The Assistant Cafe Manager helps maintain high standards of customer service, monitors food and beverage quality, and oversees cleanliness and safety across the cafe. Responsibilities include handling guest inquiries and feedback, assisting with inventory management, tracking basic sales performance, and supporting implementation of promotions or special events. The role also involves training and coaching team members, aligning them with cafe policies and service expectations, and stepping in on the floor as needed to serve guests during busy periods.
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service skills with a focus on building positive guest relationships and resolving concerns promptly.
- Effective Communication skills for coordinating with staff, interacting with guests, and conveying instructions clearly.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including product handling, presentation standards, and basic hygiene practices.
- Hands-on Food Service experience in a cafe, restaurant, or similar hospitality environment.
- Basic Sales skills, including understanding daily targets, upselling, and supporting promotional initiatives.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or shift lead role within hospitality or retail is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail; familiarity with POS systems is an advantage.
- Relevant certificate or diploma in hospitality management or a related field is preferred but not required.
