Role Description The Dry Fruit Import Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. This position is responsible for sourcing high-quality dry fruits from international suppliers, negotiating contracts and prices, and managing end-to-end import documentation and compliance with customs and food safety regulations. The specialist coordinates with logistics partners to ensure timely shipment, clearance, and delivery, while monitoring inventory levels and aligning imports with demand forecasts. Day-to-day activities include market research on global dry fruit trends and pricing, supplier performance evaluation, and close collaboration with procurement, finance, and sales teams to optimize costs and maintain product quality. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, preparing periodic reports, and building long-term, reliable relationships with overseas vendors.
Qualifications
- Experience in international trade or import operations, preferably in food commodities or dry fruits.
- Strong understanding of customs procedures, import regulations, documentation, and compliance related to food products.
- Skills in supplier sourcing, negotiation, and vendor relationship management.
- Ability to analyze global market trends, pricing, and demand to support procurement decisions.
- Proficiency in coordinating logistics, including shipping, clearance, and warehousing.
- Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with internal teams and international partners.
- Comfort with using MS Office and basic ERP or inventory management software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in a procurement or import-focused role within the FMCG or food sector is an advantage.
