Role Description The Community Volunteer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Gurugram. In this role, the volunteer will participate in daily community outreach activities, including meeting community members, understanding their needs, and supporting the planning and delivery of welfare initiatives. Responsibilities may include organizing and facilitating local events, assisting with distribution of essential supplies, documenting activities, and maintaining clear communication with beneficiaries and other volunteers. The role also involves coordinating with local partners, supporting awareness campaigns, and providing basic administrative assistance to ensure smooth operations. This position is best suited for individuals who are committed to social welfare and can actively engage with diverse community groups in person.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills to engage effectively with community members and team members.
- Organizational and basic administrative skills, including scheduling, record-keeping, and simple reporting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a volunteer-driven environment, demonstrating reliability, accountability, and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Capacity to handle on-site field work, including visiting different localities in Gurugram and supporting community activities as needed.
- Demonstrated commitment to social welfare, community service, or similar initiatives; prior volunteer or community work experience is an advantage.
- Basic proficiency in English and local languages commonly spoken in Gurugram to communicate with stakeholders and beneficiaries.
- Adaptability and problem-solving mindset to respond to changing needs and constraints in community settings.
- Minimum educational background at the high school level; higher education in social work, humanities, or related fields is beneficial but not mandatory.
