Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Leader to drive the architecture, design, and delivery of large-scale digital payment platforms. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building highly scalable, secure, and resilient payment ecosystems supporting millions of transactions, with exposure to UPI, digital wallets, merchant payments, banking integrations, and real-time transaction processing platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the technology roadmap, architecture strategy, and platform modernization initiatives for payment ecosystems.
- Architect and build scalable, fault-tolerant, and high-availability platforms capable of handling high transaction volumes with low latency.
- Lead the design and implementation of UPI, merchant payments, payment orchestration, transaction routing, settlement, reconciliation, and risk management systems.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Business teams to deliver strategic payment initiatives.
- Establish engineering best practices, architecture governance, observability, reliability, and security standards.
- Drive performance optimization, platform resilience, disaster recovery, and operational excellence across critical payment journeys.
- Mentor engineering leaders and architects while fostering a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.
- Collaborate with banking partners, payment service providers, and ecosystem stakeholders to ensure seamless platform integrations.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 12–18+ years of experience in software engineering, platform development, and architecture.
- Proven experience in building and scaling payment, fintech, banking, or transaction processing platforms.
- Strong expertise in distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and real-time processing platforms.
- Experience leading large engineering teams and managing complex technology transformation programs.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and leadership capabilities.
