Role Description The VMC Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role located in Faridabad, responsible for overseeing daily operations of Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs) in the production area. The role includes planning and assigning machining work, setting up VMC machines, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring components are manufactured to required specifications and quality standards. The supervisor will guide machine operators, review VMC programs and tooling arrangements, troubleshoot machining issues, and coordinate preventive maintenance with the maintenance team. Daily tasks also involve inspecting finished parts, maintaining production records, optimizing cycle times, and enforcing safety procedures on the shop floor. The VMC Supervisor will collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to support continuous improvement initiatives and meet delivery targets.
Qualifications
- Strong experience in supervising VMC operations, including machine setup, tooling, and basic CNC programming or parameter adjustments.
- Solid understanding of machining processes, engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality inspection methods using measuring instruments (e.g., vernier calipers, micrometers).
- Ability to plan and organize production activities, allocate work to operators, and monitor output against daily and weekly targets.
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices, 5S, and basic lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.
- Proven skills in team leadership, communication, and training of machine operators on proper operating procedures.
- Experience working in a manufacturing or machinery environment, preferably in packaging machinery or related heavy engineering sectors.
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; relevant vocational training with substantial experience may also be considered.
- Ability to work on-site in Faridabad, manage shift-based activities if required, and adapt to production priorities and deadlines.
