Mission of the position
Xurrent, Inc. (“Xurrent”) designates a UX Designer. The UX Designer joins the product team and reports to the Lead UX Designer. Your mission is to design intuitive, user-centered experiences for Xurrent’s products and to strengthen the design practice the team has already established. Reporting to the Lead UX Designer, you will you will take features from discovery to implementation and help evolve our product, design system and processes.
Responsibilities
- Design user interfaces and experiences that are intuitive, visually appealing and aligned with user expectations.
- Follow and help improve the team’s design processes, fostering collaboration, creativity and user-centered practices.
- Collaborate closely with the Lead UX Designer, Head of Product, product managers, engineers and other stakeholders to understand user needs, business goals and technical constraints.
- Translate the product and design strategy set by the Lead UX Designer and Head of Product into concrete designs.
- Drive assigned design projects from concept to implementation, doing hands-on design work throughout.
- Conduct user research, usability testing and analysis to inform design decisions and improvements.
- Contribute to and maintain design guidelines, patterns and the design system to ensure consistency and quality.
- Collaborate with UI front-end engineers to ensure accurate, high-quality implementation of design concepts and proposals.
- Present and explain design work to stakeholders, and give and receive constructive design feedback within the team.
- Stay informed about industry trends, best practices and emerging design technologies.
Distinguishing Characteristics
- Solid experience in user experience design, with a portfolio showcasing successful projects.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD) and experience working within a design system.
- Familiarity with user research methodologies and usability testing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain design concepts to non-designers.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a design team and in cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a willingness to take ownership of design tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a creative approach to design challenges.
- Openness to feedback and a continuous improvement mindset.
