Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Typesetter (Publishing) role based in Trivandrum. The typesetter is responsible for laying out manuscripts into professionally formatted books and digital publications using publishing tools and design software. Day-to-day tasks include formatting text and images, setting styles, adjusting page layouts, and ensuring consistency with house style guidelines and author requirements. The role involves collaborating closely with editors, designers, and authors to finalize print-ready files and troubleshoot layout issues. The typesetter also reviews proofs, makes corrections, and maintains quality standards for all published materials.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Typesetting and Adobe InDesign skills for book and digital publication layout.
- Candidates should possess accurate Typing skills and attention to detail for handling manuscripts and corrections.
- Candidates should possess Customer Service and Education-related skills to support authors and explain publishing processes clearly.
- Candidates should possess good communication, collaboration, and time management skills to meet production deadlines.
- Experience in publishing, print production, or book design is beneficial.
- Familiarity with other layout or design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) and basic knowledge of typography standards are an advantage.
