Role Description The Transport Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and monitoring daily freight movements to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods. This full-time hybrid role is based in Chennai, with core responsibilities performed on-site and some tasks suitable for work from home. Key activities include scheduling vehicles, assigning routes, coordinating with drivers and clients, tracking consignments, and resolving operational issues. The role involves maintaining accurate transport records, updating shipment status, managing documentation, and supporting compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. The Transport Coordinator also collaborates closely with internal teams and customers to address queries, manage expectations, and uphold service quality standards.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations Management and Transportation Management skills to plan routes, allocate resources, and oversee day-to-day logistics activities.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to coordinate with drivers, vendors, and clients, and handle inquiries and issue resolution professionally.
- Candidates should possess solid Organization Skills to manage schedules, documentation, shipment tracking, and multiple priorities with attention to detail.
- Relevant experience in transport or logistics coordination, preferably within road freight operations, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work in a hybrid setup based in Chennai, using basic computer applications and transport management tools; knowledge of local and regional routes is an advantage.
- Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, business administration, or a related field is preferred, along with a commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement.
