Role Description The Traffic Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi, responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of shipments to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery. This role manages daily scheduling of vehicles, routes, and loads, while tracking transit performance and resolving delays or exceptions. The Traffic Manager works closely with operations, warehouse, and customer service teams to align dispatch plans with client requirements and service level agreements. Day-to-day tasks include supervising documentation and compliance, negotiating with carriers when needed, analyzing logistics data, and recommending improvements in routing and utilization. The role also involves maintaining clear communication with internal stakeholders and clients, and supporting continuous process optimization in traffic and transport management.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in traffic planning, route optimization, and shipment scheduling, with the ability to manage multiple movements simultaneously.
- Competence in logistics coordination, transport management, and vendor/carrier management to ensure efficient and reliable operations.
- Proficiency in using transportation or logistics software, spreadsheets, and other digital tools to track shipments and analyze performance data.
- Capability in documentation control, regulatory compliance, and attention to detail for accurate shipping records and reporting.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills to work with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
- Strong problem-solving, time management, and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in traffic management, transport operations, or logistics coordination is preferred.
