Role Description The Senior Resident is a full-time, on-site clinical role based in the Pune Division, providing direct psychiatric and rehabilitation care to residents. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, managing treatment plans, monitoring progress, and coordinating with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and allied health professionals to deliver integrated care. The Senior Resident will participate in daily ward rounds, clinical reviews, case discussions, and family meetings to ensure clear communication and continuity of care. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, supporting adherence to regulatory and quality standards, and contributing to clinical protocols and training for junior staff. Senior Residents are expected to respond to clinical emergencies, uphold ethical practice, and promote a safe, therapeutic environment for residents.
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills in psychiatry, addiction medicine, or neuropsychiatry, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage complex cases.
- Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, mental health, or elder care settings, including multidisciplinary teamwork and care coordination.
- Excellent communication and counseling abilities to work effectively with residents, families, and diverse care teams.
- Sound knowledge of clinical documentation, medical ethics, and adherence to relevant healthcare regulations and standards.
- Postgraduate medical qualification (e.g., MD/DNB Psychiatry or equivalent) and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the capacity to handle a high-volume clinical environment and on-call duties.
- Commitment to compassionate, non-judgmental care and a recovery-oriented, person-centered approach.
- Prior experience in a rehabilitation or de-addiction center in India, and familiarity with the Mental Healthcare Act 2017, is an advantage.
